Ice your Balls: Optimizing Testosterone + Libido

According to World Bank, the global birthrate has been on a steady decline since 1960 — “I think one of the biggest risks to civilization is the low birth rate and the rapidly declining birthrate,” Elon Musk said.

With the U.S. birthrate falling by 4% in 2020, the world hit a record low — according to the Centers for Disease Control.

So I think fertility, libido and Testosterone should be a topic in every man’s life as low sperm count can adversely affect your family life if you and your partner are trying to have a baby.

Since World War II, the average male sperm counts have been down by as much as 50% (researchers blame environmental factors, including oestrogen in drinking water).

Indeed, the “blame” for infertility has historically been exclusively placed on women, which has been particularly hard on women.

In recent years, to increase the number and quality of sperm they generate, men are increasingly adopting a diverse variety of holistic and alternative therapies, including even applying ice to one’s testicles.

Exposure to heat is one of the men’s most common reasons for low sperm count, so it is no surprise that men are adopting the ice-ball practice.

Where did the idea of icing your balls originate?

Research has shown that the original use was actually to improve fertility in men.

There have been studies in the 60s like;

This ancient knowledge shows how excess heat around the testicle will damage fertility and sperm count.

The generation of sperm and Testosterone can be stopped by even a temperature increase of 2 degrees Celsius outside the ideal range.

Just two hours of driving has been found to increase the scrotal temperature by approximately 1.7–2.2°C (Bujan, 2000).

Recently, there has been a bodybuilding forum on bodybuilding.com where many users talk about how various Russian and Chinese powerlifters were icing their balls before trying to break a Personal Best.

Yes, There is a whole group dedicated to icing your balls.

People have testimonies about icing their balls like Lucas, the founder of Ergogenic health, who said

“I’m like waking up with morning wood, a consistently huge boost in libido, sexual function, better motivation.”

And also mentioned he recommended it to friends who were impressed with the effect.

However, one also needs to know that any medical reports haven’t backed this method.

Why should I Ice my Balls?

The testicles are located outside the body.

This is because they are susceptible to temperature and must be kept slightly cooler than the body’s internal temperature.

The Leydig cells located in the testicles, which secrete Testosterone when luteinizing hormone (LH) is present, require cool conditions to function optimally.

This cell release a class of hormones called androgens (19-carbon steroids).

Anytime your testicles are slightly too warm, that is +2 degrees Celsius, your testicular cells cannot function optimally due to the oxidative stress that heat can induce in the testicles.

So when men wear underwear or tight clothing, sit near a laptop, or in hot environments, the testicles are too warm to function.

Benefits

Without using anything that could dramatically have a super physiological effect on Testosterone, using the ice ball practice has been seen to have tremendous benefits like optimizing Testosterone, fertility and libido.

Lucas, the founder of Ergogenic health, mentioned in an interview that they get guys reporting increased morning wood, a deeper voice. Within the first week or so, more energy increased testicular hand size.

And a lot more stemming from higher, I guess, Testosterone and possibly Dihydrotestosterone (DHT), a metabolite of Testosterone.

So you’re probably wondering how to ice your balls.

You don’t want to apply directly on your balls like any other body part to avoid burning your skin, so place the ice on your underwear and press it against your balls.

Before bed is the appropriate time to do this to reap the benefits of maintaining a low testicular temperature before deep sleep.

Except for rubbing ice on the testicle, various other methods can help keep it cool down there;

  • Not wearing boxers or briefs to bed
  • Keeping ice cooling packs in the area at regular intervals
  • Taking cold showers
  • Have a cooling session at regular intervals.

Keep your balls cool, and Let’s Multiply!!!
